Partially update a subject by ID

Partial update of a subject using JSON Merge Patch (RFC 7396). Only the fields included in the body are modified; omitted fields retain their existing values. Prefer this endpoint over PUT for updates — PUT requires the full resource body and will null out any omitted field. The subject type cannot be changed via PATCH.

Partial update body for PATCH /subjects/{subjectId} (RFC 7396 JSON Merge Patch). Any field absent from the body is left unchanged on the stored subject. Any field present replaces the current value. Explicit null on schema-required fields (type, firstName, lastName for individuals; name for organizations) is rejected with 400. The subject type cannot be changed via PATCH.
